So, this past weekend we went to the Mormon Miracle Pageant (aka the Manti Pageant). It was chelle's first time. It was very nice. We got there at about 4 pm thinking there was a carnival/fair type thing like the Summerfest always has, but ALAS! we were wrong. There was a really small 'craft fair' that we went through. It took us all of about 10 minutes. So then we wandered around Manti for a while until we realized we were being eaten by mosquitos, so we went to the Top Stop gas station to get some bug spray. They only had the small cans and they were charging $7.50 for them! I couldn't believe it! I expressed my irritation out loud and the clerk said "well, Walmart ran out of them , and no one else thought to carry some. No one but Top Stop!" as if that made it ok to charge me my first born for a can of bug spray. Yeah. Brings a whole new meaning to the term 'highway robbery.'
Anyway, once we got over the shock of the uber expensive bug spray, we walked main street for a while- up and then back down to the temple. That only took us about a half an hour. And since the pageant doesn't start until 9:30, we still had about 4 hours to kill. So we went to the Pioneer Dugout (which is where the pioneers first lived when they settled manti. yeah- 16 people in that tiny little cave-like house. wow!) then we pretty much did everything all over again!
We decided to get some Sno-cones, because it was SUPER hot, and Joe was just sitting in the stroller just kinda veg-ing. so we got a few sno cones, and joe perked right up!!
We finally went to the pageant seating to get a good seat, but we still had about 45 minutes until the pageant started. So Steve was playing with Joe-joe and I was playing the Nintendo DS. Jenni, meanwhile, found the camera an dhad her own little photo shoot!
She is so silly!
We watched the Pageant which was pretty cool, and went back to the tent to sleep. (we were staying at the Temple Hill Resort- a little rv/tent campsite that was really pretty nice- it had a pool, and an arcade, and volleyball, and horseshoes- lots of fun stuff to do!) For some reason, Steve and I were both in a really weird mood! We couldn't stop laughing and giggling! Jenni kept telling us to shush and be quiet because she was trying to sleep "and I can't sleep if you guys keep making all that noise! This is the last time I'm going to tell you!" (she is so silly!) We did finally get to sleep at around 3 am or so!
And yeah. That was our weekend!
3 peeps decided to say stuff:
