Ugh!

Hello all you fellow bloggers! I realize its been a few days since my last post, but ALAS! I have been super sickly. I can't breathe through my nose, my throat hurts, and my chest hurts. Yuck. Any the sad thing is I do actually have some fun stuff to blog! Unfortunately I am feeling super yucky, not to mention light headed (my heart is racing from my cold medicine. I can't decide which is worse, the yucky cold stuff, or the racing heart and light-headedness!) And, although I took NyQuil (which usually KNOCKS me out) I am awake and have super restless legs. bug and a half! So. I'm going to try, and try again to get some more sleep.

And I will post some cute pics later! I promise!

ok thats all!

The Bronco Mendenhall Show!!!

L-R: Greg Wrubell, Mark Lyons, and Bronco Mendenhall

So, for those of you who don't know me super well, let me tell you- I am a HUGE football fan. I really could watch any team any time! (As long as its not arena football- yuck!) And, as I am sure you may have guessed, I LOVE BYU football!! I grew up watching it with my daddy, and still can't get enough of it! So last night we went to the Bronco Mendenhall Show at Ken Garff in Orem. (It's the KSL radio show with Bronco) So here are a few pics from it!

Bronco getting ready- he had just arrived, and he really looked tired! I'm thinking he had just come over from practice! He was still in warm-ups!

The kids got kinda bored after a while, so Joe-joe started looking at one of the car books . . .

. . . while Jenni sat on the floor and played the DS. (could she be more my daughter?!?)

After the show, Bronco got up and walked right past us. It was pretty cool! Then they started giving out prizes. They had some gift baskets from Lehi Roller Mills, some Utah Blaze (Arena football) jerseys, visors, and balls, and they had some BYU Jerseys. I, of course, really wanted the BYU Jersey. But I hadn't gotten one, and they only had two left. Then the guy said "Michelle . . . uh . . . Sa . . Salt-giver"

I was pretty excited!!

But then, it was time to leave!

We took pics outside by the big BYU blow-up thing.

Then, at home, Joe-joe wanted to wear the 'touchdown'. He even did the touchdown signal! (Do we have a ball player on our hands? I think so!! I said a-boo-yah!)

So yeah. Thats was lots of fun! And Joe-joe is so gonna play football! I found out that they start tackle football as young as 2nd grade! (Yikes!) but I think he'll like it! (And if he doesn't, we'll try something else!)

ok, thats all!

"Tur-tul" the Toad

So, I had to run out to the store last night at about 10:30, and since Jenni was already asleep (and joe-joe should have been!) I went by myself. So I went to the store and came home, and as I was walking up the sidewalk I noticed a little dark spot on the walkway. I thought "thats kinda weird, why is it wet there?" but didn't think anything of it. Then, when I was about a foot away from the 'wet spot' it moved! Yeah- the 'wet spot' moved! It scared me half to death!!! It was still dark, so it took my eyes a bit to adjust to the darkness, and after I had recovered from almost dropping the shopping bags I had, I realized that the spot had hopped, and it must have been a frog!! So I carefully walked around it without scaring it, and turned on the porch light. Sure enough, there was a large frog sitting on our walkway! I don't think I have EVER seen a frog in utah county that wasn't in a pet store, or a pet of someones! I mean, I saw one once in St. George, on a mini-golf course, but apparently they are quite common there. So I was just a little surprised to find a frog on our porch! So I went upstairs and got Steve and we caught the little guy!

We wanted Jenni to see it, but she was asleep, and we didn't want to wake her up. But then the more we thought about it, we didn't really want to try to catch bugs for it to eat, so we decided to take pics and let it go.

Unfortunately, the little dude didn't want to get out of the box, so Steve had to persuade him to come out. (That didn't work, so be basically had to just dump him out! but he was ok!)

We caught him in Joe-joe's 'butterfly' net, which by the way has actually been used to catch a butterfly!

He decided to stay around us for a few minutes, but Steve wouldn't leave him alone, so he finally jumped into the bushes! We called him Tur-tul cause thats what Joe-joe kept calling him. Steve told joe that it wasn't a turtle, it was a toad, and joe said "Oh, i's a to-de" kinda putting two syllables on the word. It was so cute! So yeah- we have 'Tur-tul' the toad living in our garden! Woo Hoo for toads! (really, not woo hoo, cause they're kinda gross, but it was kinda cool! Steve even touched it- held it in his hand for a bit! ewww is all I had to say!)

Anyway, chat at you later, next time I have something boring to talk about!

Bridal Veil Falls!

So, on August 30th (Saturday) Flee, Lizzy, and us went to Bridal Veil Falls to walk for a while. It was so nice out! It was in the 80's, with a light breeze!! It was PERFECT! So here are some pics from our walk!

We walked across a bridge so the kids could see the water. If was cool, except for all the spider webs! Seriously, they were all over the place! While we were walking across the bridge Steve Jenni and Joey were in front of us. It was SO cute, so I had to take a picture!

"When you're the best of friends . . . ." Thats the song from the Fox and the Hound. Such a cute show! And its perfect, cause we are the best of friends! You couldn't find two friends who are closer than us!! We are like so totally BFF's! (That was me being a valley girl for a sec! like, totally!) Flee is my own personal diet enforcer. She keeps me on track! (7 lbs, and counting!)

When we got to the falls we walked in the little pools at the bottom. I didn't go in cause I was wearing sneakers, but everyone else did! That was Jenni's favorite part!

Lizzy wasn't sure how she felt about the water! She wasn't too excited about it! What a cutie!

Joe-joe was holding on for dear life!! He didn't want to get into the water . . .

. . . so they sat on a rock by the falls . . .

. . . but Steve decided that joe-joe needed to walk through the water. He didn't like it much. He said it was too cold. Apparently Steve though it was cold too!!

Joe-joe had to show me his piggies when he was out- telling me how cold it was!!

All in all it was super fun! (Even with flying water bottles, right flee?? oh, and I have a really cool looking bruise! I should show it to you!) So yeah. That was our trip to the falls! We walked up the path for about a mile or so, then we had to turn around cause we had other plans, and the kids were getting bugged! Jenni wouldn't even walk anymore, so she was in Joe-joe's stroller, and Lizzy wouldn't sit in her stroller, she kept wanting to get out and walk, but then she would walk super close to the edge by the river, and that made us a little nervous, and then there were the bikers that were going by super fast. (And really, with how many people were on the path they really shouldn't have been going that fast anyway! rude huh!) So we finally ended up putting Joe-joe and Lizzy in one stroller, and Jenni in the other, and just jogging the rest of the way to the car! But it was so fun! We should do it again Flee!

Ok, thats all for now!

p.s. Okay, and let me just state for the record, that it really isn't 4:30 am. The clock is messed up and is saying the wrong time. (I got a bunch of crap for staying up so late to blog, but really, It is SO HARD to blog with kids sitting next to me and bugging me! So I don't try anymore! I just do it at night after they've gone to bed. just fyi!) It's really not that late! ok, so I'm glad thats cleared up now for all of you. yeah. now thats really all! Bye!

Time for a hair cut!!!

So, we took Joe-joe and Steve to get their hair cut last week. I just can't get over how cute my kids are when they are getting a hair cut! I mean, I know, I can't really post a new entry every time I give them a hair cut, but since I'm ususally the one that's doing the cutting, I don't get to see their face too much. So this is super fun for me!
Here's my shaggy headed Joe-joe not quite sure about whats about to happen. He didn't squirm though! He was so good!!!

It started out really good! The stylist needed him to bow his head so she could get to his neck, so she pointed to the 'monster' on the white hair shield thing. He thought that was pretty cool!!

The longer he sat there the more bugged he got. But still, he didn't squirm! Although he did start to look around a little more!!! What a cutie!

He kept getting little hairs in his face, and it was so funny watching him try to scratch his nose through the hair shield! silly boy!

We were almost done- the stylist just wanted to try to get all the little hairs off him. He doesn't really like the hair dryer much!

Finally, we were done! (Although, it only took about 20 minutes! She was fast!) Joe-joe very politely reminded the stylist that he needed a sucker. Look what handsome guys they are! Handsome, handsome, handsome!
